Akela Land is a family-oriented camping experience for Cub Scout Tigers, Wolves and Bears with their Families. Any and all families members are welcome and encouraged to come to participate in this outdoor experience.
To show how excited we are for families to be part of the Scouting experience, we are offering attendance to Akela Land at no charge!
However, to take advantage of this introductory offer registrations must be received by July 20th, 2018.
Activities will include elective adventures from all levels of Cub Scouts as well as opportunities to earn their shooting sports patches and pins. Some of the events will include :
- Nature Trail
- Scavenger Hunt/Map Reading
- Whittling Chip
- Leave no Trace
- Dinosaur Hunt
- Bobcat Trail
- Baloo the Builder
- Other adventures
When: August 16th – 18th, 2018
Where: The University of Montana Western is partnering with Scouting leadership to bring you this opportunity and it will be held at the beautiful Birch Creek Outdoor Center just outside of Dillon, MT.
Cost: We are so excited to be introducing everyone to the new Family Scouting program that we are offering this event at no charge.

Housing: Families are encouraged to bring their own tents or RV’s, but there is some dormitory style housing available for those that may be interested.
Meals: All meals will be provided in a dining hall as part of your attendance during this activity.
Theme: This year’s theme is Wild Wild West, so bring your ten-gallon hat, put on those cowboy boots, and get ready to pony up to some fun this summer.
