We are now accepting nominations for the 2024 Silver Beaver Award.
The Silver Beaver is a council‐level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.
Nominations must be received by February 29th, 2024, to be considered.
The award is made for noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Scouters, Cub Scouters, Varsity Scouters, and Venturing leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of a local council.
Introduced in 1931 as a pin-on medal, the award was switched to a neck ribbon due to the heavy weight of the medallion. A blue-white-blue ribbon bar was introduced in 1934 for informal uniform wear and in 1946, ribbon bars were replaced by the current knot insignia.
If you wish to nominate a candidate, please download the form and mail or email the completed nomination form to the Montana Council.
