New Council & District Event Registration System

Do You Organize & Lead Events? Here's How To Submit

If you’ve looked at the calendars on the council and district websites recently, you may have noticed a change. We are transitioning to a new calendar and event registration system for all council and district events. The new system, scoutingevent.com (aka Blackpug), replaces Tentaroo, our council’s previous system primarily used for summer camp and other large council events.

Scoutingevent.com is a Scouting-specific system utilized by dozens of BSA councils around the country. It’s dynamic and can meet all of our event registration needs, including summer camps, camporees, Merit Badge Universities and more! Payments can be made directly via the online registration or at any of the Montana Council Offices.

All event registrations can be accessed through the district and council calendars or by utilizing a specific event url/link provided by the event organizer. For more information on the basic registration process, check out this video: How To Register For An Event

If you would like to subscribe to the calendar and integrate it with your personal calendar client:

  • Click here to Visit our events page or visit your district page
on our website to see the calendar
  • Click subscribe at the top right
  • Choose your calendar hosting and follow the instructions.

The information added to your calendar is dependent on the filters selected. Be sure to select Montana Council or the district of interest in the “Districts” tab. If nothing is selected, the calendar will show all council and district calendar events.

Are you a district or council volunteer who organizes and leads events? Here’s some more information for you!

Getting started is easy: Provide your district executive with the event information, including the basics you’d typically include on a paper or digital event flyer. Montana Council Program Secretary Kirsten Steele (Kirsten.steele@scouting.org) then “builds” the event registration and provides you and your district executive with a draft for review. Once it’s final and ready to go, the event appears on the district calendar and you’ll have a live link to share in your promotional materials. Kirsten can also provide event coordinators with login access to view registration data, such as attendance numbers, names, and contact information.

We are excited to implement this new system! If you have any questions or need assistance with scoutingevent.com, please contact your district executive or Kirsten Steele (Kirsten.steele@scouting.org).
