The National Eagle Scout Association established the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award (ESSPY) to recognize valuable service of an exceptional nature by an Eagle Scout candidate to a religious institution, school, community or other entity through completion of an Eagle Scout project.
All nominations must be submitted and received before January 31, 2023. Nominations can be emailed to jim.atkinson@scouting or sent to:
- Montana Council
Box 412, Kalispell, MT 59903
Last year, the Montana Council NESA Committee only received three nominations. This is a great opportunity. An Eagle Scout, their parents, or any registered BSA volunteer (with the Eagle Scout’s permission) may submit Eagle Scout service projects for consideration.
The committee will review all nominations and select the best in the council. It will then be forwarded to the territory for their selection process.
Territory recipients receive $300 available for their future educational purposes or to attend a national or international Scouting event or activity. National recipients receive $3,500, available for their future educational purposes or to attend a national or international Scouting event or activity.
Evaluation criteria includes – project planning required, effort to develop the project, extent and character of leadership provided by the Scout and does the project inspire others.
Visit the official NESA website for details about the award along with nomination and evaluation information.
