The Montana Council leadership is acutely aware of the international epidemic of the COVID-19 virus and the potential effect on human activity and health.
We are monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services and local health departments as to travel restrictions and appropriate courses of action.
Currently, there are no travel restrictions in the United States or restrictions on activities or gatherings of people in Montana. We wish to assure you that should the situation change and the CDC, or our local health departments, advise action we will comply with recommendations regarding public safety and public health.
As our motto states, “A Scout is prepared,” and that is what we are doing. We will keep you apprised of changes to any program dictated by health and safety concerns.
Should you have any questions about CDC, Montana DPHHS or local health department recommendations, you can find information online at the following websites:
Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services
This is also an appropriate and relevant time to review the Boy Scouts of America’s safety information concerning Communicable Disease Prevention.
Following recommendations by the Montana DPHHS, we ask that you please refrain from attending any meetings or events if you are sick.
For now, we are moving ahead with confidence for a great year of Scouting in Montana.
Yours in Scouting,
Dirk Smith
