Business and community leaders gathered on Thursday morning in Billings to support Scouting in Montana during Black Otter District’s annual Investment in Character and Leadership breakfast. The support of the community was overwhelming, raising over $50,000 to put toward our Scouts.
The gratitude of the community not only wowed us, but it was a record high for Black Otter District’s Breakfast.
We also would like to thank host Brian Brown, President of First Interstate Bank, Billings, for supporting Scouting and our special speaker Earnest Byner for a great talk.
Byner is famous for one of NFL’s worst fumbles in professional football history. His book, titled “Everybody Fumbles” was given to each attendee. He finished his 14-year NFL career ranked 16th on the NFL’s all-time rushing list with 8,261 yards on 2,095 carries, with 56 touchdowns.
A few folks even had an opportunity to try on his Super Bowl ring!
Thank you to Mr. Byner, Mr. Brown, our Table Hosts and all of the business and community members who showed their support. Scouting is strong in Montana thanks to people like you. You have a direct hand in developing the next generation of strong, ethical leaders in our state.
