The Mountain Valley membership kick-off is here! All the materials are premiering at the May 2 Roundtable to help you adopt Montana’s 2024 theme of Hooked on Scouting! Why have a recruiting theme? Themes inspire creativity and fun. A good theme is like a good jingle – it sticks! We want The Hooked on Scouting activities to help you catch some more scouts but also fire up your Scouts in recruiting meetings. The activities give you several options based on the age of your scouts and showcase important program elements like scout skills (knots), nature (fish species), and character (Scout Law). The activities use some new materials like Scout Law Fish fabric to make it exciting for your existing Scouts. If they are having fun, that shows Scouting at work!
Leaders will get an opportunity at the May 2 Roundtable to try any of the Hooked on Scouting eight fishing themed activities. The activities are:
- Catch and Release
- Canoe Game
- Bean Bag Fish Toss Games
- Rope Drop Game with Tie Dye Rope Option
- Magnetic Fish Bookmark
- Fish Zipper Pull
- Big Fish Fun
- Popcorn Fishing
We jumped into new waters this year by designing special materials such as Fish Law Fabric and Rope Drop Game Fish Tags. If you are going to miss Roundtable, or perhaps are somewhere else in Montana, you can still add these recruiting activities to your plans!
