We are excited to have Matt Covey joining the ranks as District Executive of Northwest and Silvertip Districts.
Matt was born and raised in the Ozark Mountains in Northwest Arkansas. After moving to Little Rock, he joined Boy Scout Pack 295 and earned the Arrow of Light and, after crossing over into Boy Scouts, earned his Eagle Scout in 2007.
After studying physics at Washington University in St. Louis and living for a year in Spain, he moved to New York, where he spent three years as a lab manager in a cancer research lab at Columbia University.
Although Matt found his work there very rewarding, his love of the outdoors soon drove him to leave the big city for the Big Sky and soon Matt called Flathead Valley home.
He rediscovered his love of scouting by joining Troop 1903 in Lakeside as an Assistant Scoutmaster and discovered a new appreciation of Montana.
In his spare time, Matt likes to play his guitar, hunt with his dad, hike and kayak with his fiancée Rachel and smoke as much meat and fish as he can get his hands on.
