SE Corner: Montana Council’s 2020 Successes

Although 2020 was a difficult and challenging year, the Montana Council had numerous successes.

Thanks to our outstanding staff and volunteers, the council achieved its Investment in Character and Leadership (ICL) goal, raising over $500,000. This is a tremendous win for our council.

The council is fifth in the entire nation in online popcorn sales, raising almost $480,000.

We conducted an exceptional summer camp at the beautiful K-M Scout Ranch, safely serving 900 Scouts and Scouters while adhering to strict health and safety requirements.

We are increasingly excited at the progress Melita Island is making during our rehabilitation project. Already a gem in our program, it is shaping into an even more stunning camp location.

Over one hundred Scouts achieved the Rank of Eagle in 2020, including three young ladies that are part of the country’s Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts.

I cannot thank everyone enough for all you have done for and the council!

Most importantly, I want to wish a safe and wonderful Holiday Season to you and your families.

Yours in Scouting,

Dirk Smith
