SE Corner: Happy Holidays & Thanks

However you celebrate the holidays, I hope you find yourself surrounded by the love of friends and family – whether in person or virtually. As we do our best to live by the Scout law year-round, it’s impossible not to recognize how the 12 points are intertwined into the message of the season.

As this is the last Scout Executive message before the holidays, I want to take a moment to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Merry Christmas.

I challenge you this holiday to take this to heart. A Scout is: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank our Montana Council staff, the Council Board Members and all our volunteers for all that you do for Scouting. Thank you for another great year! The 2,700 Scouts that we serve also thank you. They don’t always see the work behind the scenes. Rest assured, we do. And we are in awe of your dedication and humbled by your energy and efforts.

I can’t begin to thank everyone for all you have done for me and the council over the last two and half years. Each of you has a hand in providing life-changing program for the young men and women in our State.

Most importantly, this holiday season, please take time to cherish your family, friends and loved ones. I wish everyone a safe, wonderful holiday and a very Merry Christmas!
