Introducing Scouting To New Families

It is hard to believe that summer is closing upon us and fall is right around the corner!

With fall comes the opportunity to welcome new youth to our great Scouting program. With school kicking off across Montana we are excited to invite and introduce Scouting to new families.

Family Scouting will be a new program option to units all across the country. It is our opportunity to bring the benefits of Scouting to more youth both male and female while remaining true to our mission.

To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

August is a great time to make sure your new youth recruitment plan is in place. Please visit as a unit to get your school open house on the calendar and plan to have a booth set up with information regarding your Scouting program; times you meet, scheduled for the year, any information a new parent might need to get introduced and join you on your school sign-up night.

Following your school open-house, you will want to set a date/time to hold a sign-up opportunity for new youth in the area you serve. Please remember to have a sign-in sheet and contact anyone interested in joining.

Last year in the Montana Council you helped provide Scouting to over 8,000 youth across Montana. Let’s grow that number and give everyone a great Scouting experience.

Your local district executive can help you with the process.

Please see the link for more contact information and how to plan for a sign-up opportunity: https://montanabsa.org/montana-council/contact/
