Scott Burke Receives Rare North Star Award

Recognizing Significant Contributions To Scouting

Congratulations to Scott Burke, President and CEO at First Security Bank of Missoula, for receiving the Boy Scouts of America North Star Award. This unique award recognizes a non-Scouter for significant contributions to Scouting. This is the third time in Montana Council history that this award has been given and is rare in its presentation across the country.

Burke was presented the award at a special President’s Reception during the Montana Council’s Annual Convention in Missoula.

Scott is a strong supporter of Scouting in the greater Missoula area. He has served as chairman of the council’s largest special event golf tournament and is an ardent sponsor of many local charitable events. Mr. Burke has served as a table host at our community ICL events and previously served as the event’s chair. His commitment to Scouting has helped the Montana Council to engage with other non-scouters, which has led to significant support for Scouting in the community. Scott has a heart for youth organizations and continually looks for ways to support kids.

In addition to his contributions of time and resources, he is a lot of fun to be around and brings a smile to his work, volunteerism, and interactions with others. Scouting created this award to recognize those who live the values of the Scout Oath and Law in their day-to-day lives and we believe we have found a very deserving individual in Scott Burke.
