Montana Scouting Loses a Good Friend

Julie Butters Hall
May 10, 1973 – March 10, 2018

Julie Hall was a great friend and member of the Montana Council Scouting community and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She would light up any room with her infectious smile and her sparkling brown eyes. Wherever she went she made people happy with her fun personality and positive example.

Julie had a love for Scouting and sacrificed many weekends and vacation days to help the movement. She and her husband Chris could often be found at Grizzly Base whenever a Wood Badge course was occurring.  She also spent many summers on Melita Island serving as Commissioner and as Camp Director.

Julie was also devoted to her faith and served many roles as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She helped Scouting as a member of the Stake Primary Presidency.

Julie’s love and compassion for others were not reserved for Scouting only.  She worked as a CNA at Brendan House in Kalispell, MT and cherished the friendships she made over the years with her co-workers and patients.

Julie was a wonderful Mother as can be seen through her children: Austin (Sara), Stratton and Kennedy.  Her children could often be found at the same scouting events as Julie as it was a way for the family to be together.

Julie’s example and leadership are greatly appreciated and will be hard to replace.  We express our deepest sympathies to her family and cherish the legacy left from her years or service.

“May the great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us until we meet again, and may our footsteps lead unto Him.”
