Montana Council thanks the almost 1,200 Scouts, leaders, parents, grandparents and supporters who participated in our International Scout Expo, which was held in Great Falls on June 16-19, 2022.
This was the first major international Scouting experience we’ve hosted in Montana since 1976!
When Event Chairperson Wayne Thares had the idea three years ago to host an Expo, few people could have imagined that units from eleven states and Canada would join in. But the Committee, led by Wayne, Program Chair Tom Lynch, and Operations Chair Bill Rutten, was dedicated to ensuring the success of the Expo. Their two main goals were accomplished: keeping everyone safe and having lots of fun!
A huge thank you to our two major sponsors: Taco John’s and Visit Great Falls.
Special thanks to Cascade County’s Expo Park staff, Montana Wool Growers Association for sponsoring the Dutch Oven Cook Off, Lions Club and Rotary Club for serving breakfasts, Great Falls Model Railroad Club and Altered Classics Car Club, Great Falls Police Department, Cascade County Sheriff’s Department, Cascade County Search and Rescue, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Great Falls Fire Department, Gore Hill Fire Department, Meadowlark Country Club for supplying lifeguards, Electric City Water Park, United Materials, religious leaders, all the volunteers and MT Council Staff for their hard work which make the Expo such a memorable experience.
Thanks also to the incredible staff, who put in exceedingly long hours, doing everything from preparing food to working the store. And to the volunteers who donated their time. This event truly could not have come together and been as successful without all the hard work and dedication from our Scouting community. A sincere thank you to each of you.
