Melita Island Camp Leadership Chosen

Melita Island Scout camp is pleased to announce their directors for the 2016 Camping Season.

As Camp Director is Libby Brindley. Libby is a long time scouter from the Billings area and has served on staff at Melita Island for several years. She has served as Cubmaster, District Program Chairman, Black Otter District Day Camp Program Director and currently serves as Troop Committee Chairman. She continues to serve as Medic at many Scouting events. She has been the Camp Health officer and Camp Commissioner at Melita in the past and has agreed to take on the reigns as Camp Director. Libby grew up in the Flathead Lake area, so coming to camp is like coming home.

As Program Director is Kevin Hunt. For seven years, Kevin was a professional Scouter and very much enjoyed his association with the Scouting volunteers. He has been a Camp Director at various summer camps in six states. He helped to pioneer the Varsity Scouting program when it was a pilot program. Over the years, he has served proactively on various Scouting committees, was Cubmaster for seven years (in 5 packs), an Assistant Scoutmaster for numerous new-Scout patrols, Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout Coach, Venturing Advisor and a member of various district and council training committees.

As Camp Commissioner is Lou Hunt. Lou is married to Kevin Hunt. After their marriage, they spent seven summers working at Boy Scout Camps. For all of their married life, Lou has supported Kevin in a lifetime of Scouting activities. She has served as a Cub Scout Den Leader five or more times. She has been the president of various organizations in her church and loves to teach.   Lou has been the Program Director of a resident Cub Scout camp for the past two summers.

We are excited to have these fine folks at Melita Island this summer and look forward to as fantastic camping season.
