Investing In The Scouting Experience

The Scouting You Witness This Summer Is Made Possible By Financial Donations

The summer provides unparalleled experiences for the youth in Montana. Sure it’s getting outside to hike, fish and explore. But there are service projects happening across our state – like food drives, trail maintenance and trash pickup to name a few.

Summer camp is in full swing at K-M Scout Ranch and Melita Island is back on the map, both hosting hundreds of young men and women to Montana adventures through the summer.

Summer is an obvious time to witness Scouting’s impact on the local community and leadership growth in the youth. These opportunities and this program could not exist without donations to our Investment in Character and Leadership Campaign (ICL) and the James E. West Fellowship.

If you’re familiar with ICL, you know winter/spring is our major call-to-action with breakfasts and presentations. However, there is never a wrong time to give. We continue to seek and accept ICL donations throughout the year. A donation to ICL is the best way to support the local Scouts that continue to impact your neighborhood.

Also – To ensure that Scouting grows and continues to be a thriving force in shaping tomorrow’s leaders today, the Montana Council has embarked on an aggressive endowment program calling for 20-25 percent of its annual operating budget to come from endowment investments, where the principle remains untouched. In order to achieve this goal, the Scouts must build their endowment fund to $50 million.

You can help! Invest in the future of Scouting and become a James E. West fellow. Named in after the first Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, many individuals and corporations make these gifts either on behalf of someone else — such as in honor of an Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver recipient, a retirement, a special accomplishment, or anniversary—or in memory of a special individual.

Now is the time to invest in the Scouting program. Your support helps the Montana Council continue to grow and ensure that Scouting exists for generations to come.
