Scouter Battles Cancer

Scout Family:

Paul Grosvold, a.k.a “Papa Paul,” is battling esophageal cancer. He has completed seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy and had surgery on October 21st to remove a portion of his esophagus where the tumor is located. The surgery wasn’t completely successful as the doctor found more cancer. He is expected to be in the hospital for a week after the surgery and won’t be able to work for at least four weeks. Paul is self-employed. While he has health insurance, he won’t be making any income and will have medical bills. For all he has done for Troop 1 in Great Falls, the Order of the Arrow, and many Scouts throughout the state, we owe it to him to help him out in these tough times. Paul is confident that he will beat this cancer and be back to his involvement with Scouts very soon; albeit a bit lighter in weight!

If you are interested in helping Paul, we have set up an account at Embark Credit Union in Great Falls. Any amount of donation will be appreciated. Paul didn’t initiate this request because he tends to think of others and not himself. He has given so much to Scouts, it is time for us to give back.
Please keep Paul in your thoughts and prayers.
