SE Corner: Honoring Veterans Day

We Recognize The Value & Sacrifice In Service To Others

Dear Scouts, Volunteers, and Donors –

As I write this, it is the day before Veterans Day – a day we honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. It is a time to reflect on their courage, selfless sacrifice, and unwavering dedication that safeguard the freedoms we cherish and protect each day.

As Scouts we are taught to recognize the value of service to others – whether through community service projects, helping a neighbor, or standing alongside those who protect our nation. We stand united in gratitude for our veterans, many of whom have served with honor while embodying the very values that Scouting upholds: loyalty, duty, and courage.

To our veteran Scouts, volunteers, and donors: thank you. Your service to our country and our Scouting community enriches us all. We are proud of you and inspired by your example.

To those with family members who have served or are currently serving in the military, we recognize the sacrifices made by your loved ones, and we are thankful for their commitment to our nation’s safety and freedom.

As we reflect on the profound meaning of Veterans Day, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of Scouting – honoring the service of others, strengthening our communities, and supporting those who have given so much to ensure that the values we hold dear endure.

With deepest respect and appreciation,
Jory Dellinger
