SE Corner: Welcome To Spring!

With everything happening in the past year, now is the time to enjoy Spring Scouting Activities.

Now is the time to recruit new Scouts to our wonderful program and bring Scouts back who may have dropped out during the pandemic.. It is time to reinvigorate their excitement in Scouting.

Cub Day Camps and Spring Camporees are happening across the state this spring. As the District Commissioners indicated in the last commissioner meeting, packs, troops and Venturing crews are back to regular meetings and activities. This is a real positive for our youth.

New units and the revival of older units are the focus now more than ever. All packs, troops and Venturing crews should expect a call or visit from the Commissioner Staff and the District Executive in their area. Parents and the youth in our state are anxious to get outside and continue their Scouting activities.

Please go and check out the newly designed Montana Council Website: www.montanabsa.org. A special shout-out to Lido Vizzutti, our Marketing Specialist, as well as Kyle Pucko and his team at Pintler Group. They have worked very hard throughout the past several months to make the site a reality.

Finally, thank you to Jory Dellinger, Deputy Scout Executive, the Development Staff, the Marketing Team and the entire Montana Council Staff for the great job they did on the statewide Investment in Character and Leadership Kickoff Breakfast.

You can still view the outstanding presentation through the link below. I highly recommend that you do so. It is not only extremely informative but also very heartwarming. I know people from all over the country have enjoyed the video, including my parents and my children from Tennessee and Ohio. You can view the presentation for your area through one of these links: Billings, Bozeman & Missoula.

We are off to a great start in 2021. Albert Einstein said, “Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow.” Let’s continue to GROW in 2021!

Thank you for all that you do.

Yours in Scouting,

Dirk Smith,
Scout Executive
