Over the past three weeks, I attended ICL breakfast fundraisers in what we call the “Big Three” – Billings, Missoula and Bozeman.
Scouting is all about one thing – Program.
The experience and training that we implement is the very thing that keeps Scouting moving forward. No Money = No Program. Hence the value of events like the “Big Three” are critical to our mission success.
Nothing is more important than the interaction and education you provide our youth.
Our job is to support that process and provide you with all of the tools and resources necessary to accomplish just that. We need financial support to do our part and I promise you that it is on the mind of every council employee. We stand ready to help every step of the way.
These three community outreach events raised nearly half of our overall fundraising budget for the year!
That’s right – more than $240,000 raised in less than three hours! This is a huge win for Team 315 and the Montana Council.
We have also held or will hold events in Great Falls, Kalispell, Helena, Lewistown, Cutbank, Sydney and more.
I think what I enjoy most about these events is seeing how our communities support what we do. I have seen excitement for our new Scouts BSA program and an overwhelming positive response to Scouting in general. Seeing some of the most significant business and community leaders support what you all do for our youth truly rewarding.
I urge all of you to join me in supporting the efforts of the Montana Council. We must raise our annual budget and our Investment in Character and Leadership is a big piece of that.
We promise to continue to develop and motivate the best possible staff, volunteer leadership team and most importantly, protect our youth. I can think of no greater good.
Our Team is strong and continues to get stronger – help us make a difference for today’s Scouts – I think they are worth the investment.
