Eagle Scouts David and Sam were driving past a park when they noticed a person slumped next to a vehicle.
Instead of driving on, Sam turned the car around to check on the individual. Back at the car, they found a man hanging from the vehicle. Working together, they were able to cut the person free, alert authorities and save the man’s life.
“Just all the experiences we’ve had in Scouts helped us prepare mentally for how to act in a situation like that rather than freaking out. We took action,” Sam told KRTV News.
Mark King, David’s father – a Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office Chaplain and Scout Leader – said, “In a time when it seems more likely that bystanders would go live on social media or gawk, these Eagle Scouts jumped into action to save a life. With these young men leading the way, Great Falls is in good hands.”
We are proud of these two Eagle Scouts and their quick and selfless actions. David and Sam certainly demonstrated what it means to be honorable Scouts.
