Merit Badge University (or College or Academy) brings together Scouts, Venturers and adults from across our large, rural state and provides them the opportunity to earn merit badges in a collegiate setting with college-level tutoring. Montana currently boasts of five separate merit badge events. Below, find their dates and locations. More information can be found on each event by clicking the links provided.
January 11: Hi-Line District 2020 Merit Badge College – MSU-Northern, Havre.
- The Hi-Line District will be holding its’ 8th Annual Merit Badge College. All merit badges will be STEM-based. This event will take place at Brockmann Center on the MSU Northern campus.
January 24: Merit Badge Univesity – University of Montana, Missoula.
- MBU is coming to the University of Montana! Mark your calendars for this inaugural event. For more information, check out our website at mbumissoula.org. Friday activities will include UM Day, War of the Worlds, Planetarium Shows, UC Game Room and ROTC Open Gym. Saturday we will be offering several Merit Badges and Nova Awards.
February 22: MSUB Merit Badge University – Montana State University, Billings.
- Scouts BSA members are invited to the MSUB Merit Badge University in Billings. Overnight camping will be available. Details and a leader’s guide may be found here.
February 22: Great Falls Merit Badge Academy – Great Falls College MSU, Great Falls.
- Lewis & Clark District will be joining again with Great Falls College MSU to host the 4th annual Merit Badge Academy. This event will offer merit badges for Scouts from all over the state to experience. We will be offering both full-day and half-day classes which will include a wide range of classes. Class sizes will be limited based on instructors.
March 21: Merit Badge University 8 – Carroll College, Helena.
- Announcing the date for MBU 8 at Carroll College: Saturday, March 21, 2020. Mark your unit and personal calendars now. Details will be posted here as they become available.
