The Silver Beaver Award is a council‐level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.
The award is made for noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Scouters, Cub Scouters, Varsity Scouters, and Venturing leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of a local council.
Montana Council is now accepting nominations for recipients of the Silver Beaver award for 2016. Nominations must be received by February 28th, 2016 to be considered.
Introduced in 1931 as a pin-on medal, the award was switched to a neck ribbon due to the heavy weight of the medallion. A blue-white-blue ribbon bar was introduced in 1934 for informal uniform wear and in 1946, ribbon bars were replaced by the current knot insignia.
If you wish to nominate a candidate, please download the form at the link below and mail the completed nomination form to the Montana Council.
