I wish every Scout had a chance to be on staff at least once in their lifetime. There is no better feeling than watching a young boy scout have an ahh-ha moment as he understands some skill or concept that you just taught them. Some of the friendships built at camp will last a lifetime.

It is difficult for a Scout to make the commitment to be a member of camp staff when there are so many other jobs available each summer.
Most of these other jobs, while lacking the fun that camp offers, do tend to have higher wages. So it becomes a choice of “How do I save for school” or “I am trying to save for my mission.”
It is with this concept in mind that the Montana Council has created a scholarship program for members of camp staff.
While the scholarship in not huge, it can help pay for some of the expense of going to school or on a church mission.
The scholarship is in addition to regular wages paid for being on staff and can be used towards any secondary education or church mission. The more years you serve on staff, the larger the scholarship you can qualify for.
It is our hope that quality members of staff will find it easier to return to working at camp each year through this program.
